The 2024 Travel registration is CLOSED! 

We have made some updates to registration costs for the upcoming season, please read our Travel Team fees for details.

Scholarships through the CAC are available.  Please consider donating to the CAC fund during the registration if you are able to.

Travel Team Players will continue to be responsible for providing their own :

white baseball pants

maroon baseball socks (or stirrups)

maroon belt.

Travel Teams are designated by age level (e.g. 15U = 15 years old and under).

Player age level is determined by the player's age on April 30 of the current year.

Players in their respective age groups must not reach the next age before May 1 of the current year.   

Players are not allowed to tryout for and play up a grade level unless an exception by the NYBA travel committee is granted. 

As passed by the board in 2023, starting at 14U, if there is an option available in the school district in which the student athlete attends, the player should play with that community's association/team.  If there is no option in that community players will be placed on an NYBA team where space allows as to not displace a Northfield district student athlete.  Exceptions will be discussed by the NYBA Board on a case by case basis.  

A non-refundable $55 tryout fee will be charged for all players trying out for a Travel team.

10U (4th grade)​ - $410

10U can register for Travel only or Community Rec League -

Travel team players will ONLY play on a Travel team.

• If a player does not make a travel team, the player will automatically be placed on a Community Rec league team and no further payment/registration will be required.  If your player does not want to participate in the Community Rec league a refund of the initial fee.
• Additional fees apply only to players who make a Travel team

11U (5th grade) - $410

• Travel team players will ONLY play on a Travel team
• If a player does not make a travel team, the player will automatically be placed on a Community Rec league team and no further payment/registration will be required.  If your player does not want to participate in the Community Rec league a refund of the initial fee.
• Additional fees apply only to players who make a Travel team

12U (6th grade) and 13U (7th grade) - $410

• Travel team players ONLY play on only the travel team
• If a player does not make a travel team, the player will automatically be placed on a Community Rec league team and no further payment/registration will be required.  If your player does not want to participate in the Community Rec league a refund of the initial fee.
• Additional fees apply only to those players who make the Travel team

14U (8th grade) - $460

• Travel team players ONLY play on only the travel team
• If a player does not make a travel team, the player will automatically be placed on a Community Rec league team and no further payment/registration will be required.  If your player does not want to participate in the Community Rec league a refund of the initial fee.
• Additional fees apply only to those players who make the Travel team

15U (9th grade) - $460

• ​Additional fees apply only to those players who make a travel team
• If player does not make a traveling team, the registration fee will be refunded

Community Rec League (Kid Pitch) - $170

**Registration done via Travel Registration**

• Those currently enrolled in 4th-8th grades looking for a less competitive option than Travel.  League is in conjunction with Lakeville and Farmington and will have minimal travel during the season for games against these neighboring communities.  

• Days and times may vary, but should primarily be Monday/Wednesday

In order to provide as many players an opportunity to participate in youth travel baseball, the NYBA gives priority to those that are in the same grade and meet the age requirement.

All Travel Teams are selected by a tryout. Please see the Travel Team Tryouts page for more information about the tryouts and the Tryout Schedule page for tryout dates and times.

The NYBA will be collecting checks for the DIBs volunteer program, requiring a commitment of 5 hours per HOUSEHOLD.  

Families are required to provide a check for $300 prior to participating in tryouts/evaluations for Travel or prior to the start of the season for Community Rec League and all younger leagues. These checks will be held during the season. 

If at the end of the 2024 season the household has completed the required volunteer hours, their check will be destroyed. However, if a household’s volunteer requirement has not been met by the end of the 2024 NYBA season, their check will be deposited into the NYBA account. Please note, if a deposited check does not have sufficient funds when it is deposited, a return fee will be invoiced to the member and/or applied to future registrations.

Volunteering is essential to any youth organization and we strongly encourage you to be involved in helping to make the season a successful one for our kids.  However, if you think your family will not be able to fulfill the DIBs requirement we are now offering a buyout option.  To participate in the buyout option, families must submit a check for $200. Buyout checks are also due at tryouts/evaluations or prior to the season and  will be deposited at the time of receipt. 

Families of rostered coaches, board members and travel team managers will be exempt from the required hours associated with DIBs.

We will be posting DIBs hours on our website under the DIBs tab as they become available. To claim tasks, you must be signed in to the same Sportsengine account as your baseball registration.
